Questions About Fingerprints

How do I take fingerprints?

2 Ways to Take Fingerprints
 

Regular Black Ink Pad

• Cover tip of fingertip with black ink

• Take prints on a blank piece of paper (blank on both sides)

• Push finger straight down and don't roll it

• To achieve clear fingerprint lines, do not to press too hard 
• Take prints separately, not in a heart shape

• Label prints with names

• Do several tries to get a good  print

• Take and send photos of prints


 

Pencil & Tape Method

• Use a pencil to make a dark, glossy patch of graphite on a piece of paper

• Gently rub fingertip on pencil mark

• Fingertip should be dark with graphite

• Put the sticky side of a piece of clear tape on fingerprint

• Stick tape to blank, white paper

• Label with names

• Do several tries to get a good  print

• Take and send photos of prints

Do I have to use my own fingerprints?

No, you have the option to use a generic print when you make your personalization choices.

How do we get our fingerprints to you?

Take a photo or scan prints and return via email to info@flutterbyeprints.com

Shipping & Returns

Will I have a chance to review the artwork?

Yes, you will receive a free digital proof by email to review before production.  You will work directly with the artist to create the perfect custom keepsake.

When will I receive my artwork?

• Proof ready 3-5 business days after photo received 

• After approval of digital proof: 3-5 days production time. If Flutterbye Prints is unable to reach you concerning your digital proof after 4 attempts, your order will be shipped without approval of the design.

Shipping times will depend on your location and shipping speed choice. 

What if I don’t like my keepsake?

Since you’ll be working directly with the artist, you’ll have a chance to make changes and voice your concerns before anything is produced.   If you are not 100% satisfied with the artwork before it is produced, you are welcome to cancel your order for a full refund.

How do I send customization details/photos later?

If you choose later, you'll receive a link to a personalization form to complete in your order confirmation email. You can also find the form here: Fingerprint Keepsake Personalization Form

 

Please keep in mind that your order cannot be completed without your personalization details.

Can I order another product with my fingerprint?

Once your fingerprint has been digitized, it will be on file and you can use it for other keepsake products at no additional cost. Reach out to info@flutterbyeprints.com before ordering to find out how how to use your print again.
