STEP 1: PLACE YOUR ORDER
Choose from many styles and size options. Most orders take 3-4 weeks to receive; this timing is affected by when prints are submitted.
STEP 2: TAKE AND SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS
- Kit arrives in 5-7 days (U.S.)
- Easily take clear prints with mess-free inkless system
- Return prints in included prepaid envelope (allow 5-7 days for delivery) OR scan/photo and return via email
You will be notified when prints are received. Prints need to be received no later than 14 days prior (18 days for canvas/framed) to when you need the poster without incurring additional rush fees. International delivery times vary, averaging 2-3 weeks; prints are needed 5 weeks prior to event.
STEP 3: APPROVE PROOF
- Digital approve sent 7-10 business days after prints received
- Approve the proof or request changes (color and text only)
- Production time of 3-5 business days after proof approve
Please follow these guidelines and submit your prints promptly for a quicker turnaround time; no later than 14 days before your event to receive your order on time.
- Use a blank piece of unlined paper (blank on both sides)
- Push finger straight down and don't roll it. To achieve clear fingerprint lines, do not to press too hard. For footprints, press foot from heel to toe.
- Take prints separately, not in a heart shape.
- Use any color of ink. Really light inks are not recommended. DO NOT use metallic inks (i.e. silver)
- Do several tries to get a print you are happy withand is clear, because that is exactly what will be in your keepsake. Send all of the prints you take for the best selection.
- Label prints with names.
After you take your prints, you can scan and email them to info@flutterbyeprints.com. Please set the scanner to a high resolution (300 dpi or higher) for the best results. Reading the scanner's help file might give some guidance on how to do a higher quality scan. Most smartphones also have scanning apps available or can take a good close up on a high-quality setting. Accepted formats are .tif, .jpg, .psd or .pdf.
If you don't have access to a scanner, or are unsure how to get the best quality, you can mail your prints to: Flutterbye Designs, P.O. Box 520153, Salt Lake City, UT 84152-0153. If the prints are not a high resolution, a lot of the detail of the print will be lost. Copy and print shops usually offer scanning services as well.

Please follow these guidelines and submit your prints promptly for a quicker turnaround time. While it is possible to capture a pet’s print using ink or paint, it can be very messy! Flutterbye Prints recommends that you take a photo of your pet’s paw/nose rather than try to capture the print on paper.
- Check your camera to ensure that it is set at a high-quality mode.
- Locate your pet in a well-lit area; outside in daylight is a great choice.
- Try to avoid heavy shadows over the paw/nose. Check that your head, camera or hand are not casting dark shadows. Paws are also best captured if the fur between the paws is trimmed short.
- Hold your camera steady so that the camera is in focus. It may be easiest to have someone helping you.
- Take several pictures to ensure you have some that are in focus. A recommended distance from the paw to your camera is about 8-10 inches.
- If you have multiple pets, please indicate which photo belongs to which pet.
- In many cases the print can be extracted from a photo of a clay imprint.

Good profile photos ✅
- Take photo on a mostly solid background (white is best) in a well-lit area with a relaxed, non-smiling face.
- Photograph from the side and at the same level as eyes.
- Long hair looks best when pulled up into a bun, ponytail, pigtail or braids.
- Be sure to include the shoulders and the entire head.
- You may submit multiple photos to choose from.
Submit photos to info@flutterbyeprints.com with your order number and name.
Incorrect profile photos ❌
These photos would be rejected because the face is not fully turned to the side and does not include the shoulders and/or the entire head.
